Inspired by the colorful, imaginative world of Cartoon Network's Regular Show, I bring my own hand-drawn interpretations to life, paying homage to the playful shapes and distinctive style that make the series so unforgettable.
Each piece in this collection captures my admiration for the originality of Regular Show's characters, from their quirky personalities to the inventive designs that feel both surreal and relatable. You’ll see my creative process unfold, starting with pencil sketches that define the structure, moving to inking where I add clarity and contrast, and finally, introducing colors that reflect the series' bold, dynamic aesthetic.
Scroll through to see each step, from raw beginnings to polished artwork, and immerse yourself in a universe where every line and hue is crafted with the same love and attention to detail that Regular Show inspired in me.
In this inked stage of the illustration, the foundation set by the initial pencil sketch becomes more defined. Here, I focus on capturing the essence of Regular Show's bold line work, emphasizing clean, confident strokes that bring structure and depth to each character and element. The shapes that are so iconic in Regular Show—from exaggerated expressions to dynamic poses—are accentuated, highlighting the quirks and originality that make each character feel alive. This step serves as the bridge between concept and color, laying the groundwork for the vibrant hues that will follow, while preserving the energy and personality of the hand-drawn lines.
In this illustration, I wanted to escape into the Regular Show universe for a little while and imagine Rigby and Mordecai’s rebellious side in action. Here, they’ve decided to express their work strike in a rather… unconventional way. Rigby and Mordecai have managed to capture Benson, placing him inside a cage as a part of their "evil plan." Rigby stands confidently on top of the cage, sharing the details of their scheme with Mordecai, whose expression hints at equal parts amusement and mischief.
The dynamic between the two characters is palpable, with Rigby’s bold, defiant posture contrasting with Mordecai’s more laid-back, yet equally conspiratorial vibe. In this scene, I aimed to capture the humor and unexpected twists that make Regular Show so memorable. The illustration combines playful character poses, exaggerated expressions, and the familiar chaotic energy that makes it feel as if we’re right there in the park, watching them hatch their wild plan.
