High Art 2020 – 3rd Place Winner
With Gateway to Magic, I chose a black-and-white palette to create a piece that draws viewers into a world of mysticism and exploration. The lack of color emphasizes the details and contrast, highlighting the surreal elements of the journey into the unknown.
This artwork invites you to step through a portal where magic awaits just beyond the threshold. Securing 3rd place in the international High Art 2020 competition was an incredible honor, and it allowed me to showcase my passion for blending intricate line work with storytelling rooted in fantasy and myth.
High Art 2021 – Finalist
In The Bringer of Light (The Giant of Atacama), I wanted to reimagine the ancient Atacama Giant petroglyph as more than just a terrestrial figure. In my story, this giant is an extraterrestrial being who came from the stars thousands of years ago, bringing the first cannabis seeds to Earth. He didn’t just offer a gift; he taught an ancient civilization in modern-day Chile, one far older than the Olmecs, how to cultivate these plants and introduced advanced techniques to make the land fertile.
This civilization, in awe of the giant's knowledge and power, immortalized his presence by carving massive petroglyphs into the earth. These carvings were meant as a message to him, visible from the skies, in hopes that one day he might return. My artwork captures the moment of his arrival, blending history, mythology, and the unknown, creating a story where ancient Earth and cosmic knowledge collide.
